Hochstadter’s Slow & Low Rock and Rye

A drink made by sweetening straight rye whiskey with rock candy and citrus peels. Slightly hot and peppery initially. Quickly gives way to a mellow, smooth sweetness – hints of rock candy, honey and citrus are subtle. Finish is long and slightly sweet.

Slow & Low is a modern update to the historic category of rock & Rye. A combination of 84 proof straight rye whiskey, a pinch of rock candy + the additions of raw honey, navel oranges and importantly, angostura bitters, making slow & Low a proper bottled old fashioned.
